POCO Military - CORE Hunter Education Course

Successful completion of the CORE Hunter Education course is required to obtain your Fish & Wildlife ID (FWID). B.C. resident hunters need a Fish & Wildlife ID to apply for Limited Entry Hunting or to buy a hunting licence. (The FWID replaces the old B.C. resident Hunter Number card).

Course Overview: The Conservation and Outdoor Recreation Education (CORE) Program is British Columbia's Hunter Education Program. It is also a great program for anyone interested in outdoor recreation. The CORE Program consists of a practical firearms handling test, and a written examination on all of the following subjects:

Outdoor ethics and game care
Firearm handling and archery equipment
Hunting regulations
Animals of British Columbia
Birds of British Columbia
Outdoor survival, first aid & field craft
Hunter heritage, conservation and wildlife management

Course Overview

Silvercore Advanced Training Systems provides a unique system for the CFSC and CRFSC course. Many training companies provide a separate course for the non-restricted and restricted portions of the curriculum hiding the total cost for a full firearms licence.

Silvercore has been offering the Canadian Firearms Safety Course and Restricted Firearms Safety Course since 1994 and is responsible for training many of the active instructors in BC. When only the best will do, professionals choose Silvercore. Silvercore instructors are members of the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors and hold current certifications through active police agencies.

Silvercore combines the two courses into a single event, ensuring maximum exposure to both. You will not find better value for your money in the firearms training industry.

Silvercore's training is approved and recognized through HRDC

Anyone over the age of 16 who takes a course with Silvercore which either enables them to work or improves their skills in a recognized occupation may be eligible to claim their course fees under the education and textbook tax credits.
